Zola lived where the savanna stretched flat and the sky was painted bright blue. She loved secrets, but the biggest secret of all wasn't hers yet.
"Koko," she whispered to her friend, the little bushbaby who clung to her shoulder. "Did you hear the old stories? They say there is a Baobab so wide, it holds a secret room right inside its trunk!"
Koko chirped a question mark, but Zola was already putting on her traveling hat. "We must find the Baobab with a Room Inside," she declared. And off they went, following the winding sandy path.
The path grew longer, and the sun grew warmer. Zola had to stop to wipe her brow. "It has to be the biggest tree in the whole Sunland," she murmured, shading her eyes to look ahead.
Finally, they reached it. The Baobab tree was not just big. It was enormous. Its trunk was wrinkled like an elephant's knee and wider than Zola's whole house. It looked like a giant turned upside down!
Zola walked around its curve, marveling at the height. And then, she stopped. Right in the middle of the trunk, there was a gap. Not a break, but a smooth, natural doorway, dark and inviting.
Taking a deep breath of brave air, Zola ducked her head and stepped across the threshold. Instantly, the hot savanna heat vanished. Inside, it was quiet, cool, and dim, like a secret cave carved out of wood.
Koko nervously scampered off Zola's back and crept in, peering around with wide, shining eyes. Zola laughed softly. "Look, Koko! It is a room! We could have a picnic here, or tell the quietest secrets ever."
It felt ancient and safe, like the tree had kept this secret just for them. Zola and Koko sat down against the cool wall. Outside, the world was noisy and bright, but inside the Baobab, everything was perfectly calm.
Zola smiled. It wasn't just the biggest tree. It was the coziest room. The Baobab with a Room Inside was their new favorite place, holding the most wonderful secret in all the Sunland.
