High up in the deep, dark velvet of the night sky lived a little star named Nora. While all the other stars twinkled with a steady, sleepy rhythm—*blink, blink, blink*—Nora’s light had a beat all its own. It went *blink... blink-blink... and a happy little flutter-blink*.
Page 2
The older, grander stars would often grumble. "You're out of sync, Nora!" twinkled Orion. "You're messing up our perfect pattern!" Nora would try her best to be steady, to *blink, blink, blink* like everyone else, but her light just loved to dance.

Far below, in a cozy house at the edge of a big forest, lived a little boy named Leo. One evening, Leo followed a sparkling firefly farther into the woods than he ever had before. He wanted to catch its magical glow in his jar.
Page 4
Suddenly, the firefly blinked out, and a big cloud covered the moon. The woods were very dark and very quiet. Every tree looked the same. "Oh no," Leo whispered to a friendly-looking mushroom. "I think I'm lost."
Page 5
Leo looked up at the sky for help. He saw thousands of stars, all blinking their perfect, steady blinks. *Blink, blink, blink.* They were beautiful, but they all looked exactly alike. None of them showed him the way.
Page 6
But then, through a gap in the leaves, he saw one star that was different. It pulsed with a gentle, cheerful light. *Blink... blink-blink... flutter-blink*. It was Nora. Her light seemed to be waving just at him.
Page 7
Leo recognized that wobbly blink! He saw it every night from his bedroom window, right above his own rooftop. "That's my star!" he shouted happily. "My star can show me the way home!"
Page 8
High above, Nora saw the little boy looking up at her. She saw him start to walk, his eyes fixed on her light. She poured all her energy into her glow, blinking her brightest, happiest *flutter-blink-blink* to cheer him on.
Page 9
Leo kept his eyes on Nora's friendly, dancing light. It led him past tall trees and over a mossy log until, at last, he saw a warm, yellow glow. It was the light from his own kitchen window! He was home and safe.

The other stars watched as Nora's special light shone down on the little house. They didn't grumble anymore. They understood that her different, out-of-sync blink had been a guide. Nora shone brighter than ever, knowing that her wobbly, fluttery light was what made her truly special.
